Thanks to our dedicated volunteers, roughly 900 tents, 390 sleeping bags, 500 blanket boxes, 400 jacket boxes and 400 medical supply boxes were shipped on 10/29/05 to the Rural Support Network (http://www.rspn.org) in Pakistan. In the wake of the recent 7.6-magnitude earthquake in Pakistan, 80,000 people have died, and the toll is still rising. Circumstances are predicting a tally of 100,000 people by only December of this year. 2.5 million people are without homes, and aftershocks charting at 6.2 and above continue to bring homes and people down. Aid to these areas is very difficult because many of the areas are situated in such remote terrain. Civilians have been digging frantically with their bare hands uncovering bodies of women and children. We've all heard about it, read about it, watched it on television, and many of us are forced to deal with lost loved ones residing in Ground Zero. Here's our chance to do something about it. Please, donate somewhere, anywhere, to the organization/fund of your choice. For the benefit of victims in Pakistan, a donation drive has been arranged for a guaranteed way to cut through all the red tape, ensuring your contribution makes its way into the hands, warming the backs, sheltering the heads, and nurturing the hearts of those suffering overseas. It may be across the pond, but every effort is proving to help save lives. Step into the shoes of a victim. Click here. Azar Abbasi, realtor and sales promotion officer of PIA, has arranged for containers to be shipped to Pakistan carrying donations. They are currently being distributed to reknowned NGOs, who assess and disperse relief goods to regions most in need of aid. The details are as follows: ************************************************************************* Assalamo Alaikum Brothers and Sisters, I am very thankful to Adams Center for becoming an authorized association to accept donations, and I was also fortunate to get warehouse space donated by Inter Global Systems in Sterling. I am equally glad that Cavalier Logistics in Sterling has agreed to donate a 54-foot truck to transport the relief goods. We are ecstatic over the support offered by Adam Center, Inter Global Systems and Cavalier Logistics. Get Directions to Inter Global Systems Warehouse here.
